What is TikCode?
The TikTok TikCode is a personalized code with which you can give your profile to friends to follow you or to other people you just met. You know that classic image of looking for a paper and pen in a nightclub to write down someone's phone number ... That is now obsolete.
Now, in any case, the mobile phone is taken out. But better than pointing it at your smartphone or having to dictate loudly, the TikCode is similar to the code that includes QR and it is enough for someone else to scan it and it will automatically start following you on TikTok.
Advantages of using the TikCode
There are a number of benefits to using TikCode versus saying your user:

- You don't have to dictate if there is too much noise, etc.
- You can download and print it for a business card, for example
- You can have the image or upload it to other social networks
- It is quick and easy to use, it will only take a few minutes
- Personalize
On Instagram, we can create a QR code as we want, with emojis or filters but you cannot customize the TikCode with colors and shapes, it will only include your photo in the center and the rest will be a scannable code for others.
In this case, to customize the TikCode we simply have to change the profile photo and another design will automatically appear in the code we have.
Use
To use the TikCode we can quickly access it from our TikTok account. Go to the "I" section in the app profile and from here we can open the settings.
- Go to your TikTok app
- Log in with your username and password
- Go to Yo in the lower right corner
- Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner
- You will open the settings and privacy section
- Go to TikCode
You will see your TikCode code with your profile picture in the center if you have it. At the bottom, we will have two options: Save QR code or Scan.
In Save QR code we can download the TikCode as an image in the gallery and we can use it, as we say, to print it or to place it on stickers or share it on other social networks.
It is useful if you are a company or if you are doing a marketing campaign in which your content will be present on TikTok, for example.
Scan TikTok code
There is a great advantage that TikCode offers us when scanning it and that is that we can not only scan but we can attach from the gallery without having to focus the code at that time.
That is, you do not necessarily have to be in the same place as that person to start following him. For example, imagine that in your group of 50 friends you all send your TikCodes to start following them.
You just have to go to the gallery and upload those photos to TikTok, with the corresponding codes, to start following your friends.
- Go to TikTok
- Tap on Me in the lower right corner of the app
- Open the three points at the top to access settings
- Go to TikCode
- Tap the bottom button, Scan.
- The camera will open with a QR scanner
Once here, if you are with that person, focus on their TikCode and you will automatically start following them. But if you're not there, tap in the upper right corner, on "Album".
Here the app will open your recent photos and you can choose the TikCodes of your friends. Take the photo you want and you will automatically start following them.
Username
You can change the TikTok username if you don't like the one you entered when you made the account.
The username can be whatever you want, although you should keep in mind that it can only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and periods. If you change the name, the TikCode or profile link will change as well.
In order to change the username, follow these steps:
- Go to the TikTok app
- Login with your username and password
- Go to Yo, in the lower right corner of the app
- Here you will be on your page, where videos and creations appear
- Go to the central button "Edit profile"
- Here you can change your photo for TikCode or your username
- Go to Username
- Choose the one you want
Keep in mind that you will not be able to choose the one you want because there will be many of them that are already occupied in the application.
You have to choose a username that nobody else has before so in some cases, it can be a bit more complicated. Try the options suggested by TikTok or think of something original and different.
Private account
If you want to prevent your photo from being resentful with your TikCode and people you don't know start following you, it is best to mark your account as private and thus you will authorize who can see your photos and videos and who cannot.
- Open YO at the bottom of the screen
- Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner
- Go to Privacy in the settings menu
- Tap on "Private Account"
Flip the switch to put the private account. Only the people you approve will be able to see or react to the videos you upload.
